Finding out some time from your daily busy life can make you much closer to your child. Once you make them understand basic things you do not have to teach them all the time about anything. If they are growing in the right direction they will find out the best way for themselves. As a parent, you should teach them to first look to themselves for answers or any solutions for their problem before asking a parent for support. It will enhance their self-esteem, and allow them to think critically as well as out of the box. Finding a solution will help them build confidence or self-esteem and avoid over-dependence.

Here are some tips for encouraging your kid to work and play independently:-

Set clear boundaries

When you perform fabulously or you need to work or get a task done, it’s very much helpful if your child can occupy themselves for a while. Parents are the role model for the kids, they learn to deal with things copying their parents because kids are great observers they may not react all the time but they notice everything. You should communicate with your children about things you going through. They should know about their parents so that they can co-operate with you. When you need quiet time and when you’re available for interruptions. Treating your child like another person with “deadlines” and “engagements” will help both of you to respect each others’ time and boundaries.

Give your child an achievable goal

Setting up goals with your child that they can reach independently gives them confidence and the opportunity to stand out on their own and build confidence while doing so. You can start with a small goal like completing an easy task or reading a short comic book while you’re in a different room. Let them try first at their level, if questions arise, they should do their best to answer them on their own first, but you have to be careful if they need you you should be there to support them at any time if they’re really stuck. As your child can achieve more small goals if you support them and help them to improve confidence. After achieving those goals you can reward them with small gifts or maybe chocolate or ice cream.

Avoid quick fixes

It may be tempting to turn on the TV or giving a tablet to your child when you need some quiet time. But it will be much better for them if you can gift them a set of art supplies, favorite books or games, or an activity book, workbook, those activities will keep your child engaged for longer, and make active their minds while they’re doing these activities. If you want to use technology to help your children work independently, you have to make sure they are using it correctly, With skill plans, activities, and games, your child will be able to keep growing, learning, and achieving goals, even when you are outside can’t be there to help.
